SYNOPSIS

Galing Pook’s second episode zooms in on Bohol province, and how it became one of the country’s prime ecotourism destinations. Learn how the provincial government strengthened the community’s love for local culture and heritage, and how this led to increased livelihood activities via tourism.

Know how the local government also addressed pressing environmental concerns such as increased risk to the lives of animal species in Pamilacan Island, and maintaining a clean environment in the province as a whole brought about by a mix of increased tourism activities, and traditions and need for livelihood of the locals.

Understand a pressing health issue faced by the province—the high incidence of rabies—that threatened not only the lives of the people but also the tourism industry, and how the provincial government worked with the people to arrest the situation.
