SYNOPSIS
P45,000-P55,000 (Philippine Pesos) per kilometer of road? Is that even possible? In the Province of Cotabato, seven municipalities are a living proof that such is possible.
In the third episode of Galing Pook, we travel to the municipalities of Pigcawayan, Alamada, Libungan, Midsayap, Aleosan, Pikit, and Banisilan, which together comprise the PALMA+PB Alliance (formerly the PALMA Alliance).
We highlight the alliance’s farm-to-market road construction project called the Kabalikat PALMA Infrastructure Project, rightly named so since the municipalities of the alliance pooled their equipment together and with each other, paved the road to better opportunities for their constituents, many of whom have not even had a road for decades.
We also visit the Municipality of Midsayap, where the lessons from the PALMA Alliance have been applied to their barangays for resolution of conflicts that are usually in the form of rido and land conflict.
